EVERY MONTH, THROUGH OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH CHICK FIL A AT TRINITY MILLS, WE HONOR INDIVIDUALS WHO DEMONSTRATE EXCELLENCE WITH THE CFB CHAMPION AWARD.

THE APRIL CFB CHAMPION AWARD IS BEING PRESENTED TO DANIEL HARPER, SECURITY SPECIALIST AT POLK MIDDLE SCHOOL, FOR HIS HEROIC EFFORTS AT AN ATHLETIC EVENT WHILE ATTENDING A TRACK MEET HIS DAUGHTER WAS COMPETING IN.

A COACH WAS STRUCK BY A SHOT PUT THAT WAS ACCIDENTALLY THROWN TOO EARLY FROM THE STANDS.

DANIEL SAW THAT SHE FELL INSTANTLY AND WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED, BLEEDING FROM A HEAD WOUND.

HE IMMEDIATELY JUMPED INTO ACTION, APPLIED DIRECT PRESSURE AND CONTACTED 911.

THE COACH IS NOW RECOVERING THANKS TO DANIEL'S QUICK RESPONSE.

PLEASE JOIN ME IN CONGRATULATING DANIEL HARPER FOR HIS COURAGEOUS ACTIONS AND NOBLE CHARACTER.

IT IS PROVING TO BE A HUGE SUCCESS IN HELPING US TO DEAL WITH ABSENTEEISM.

THE INTERVENTION PROCESS ENGAGES STUDENTS AND FAMILIES AND REDIRECTING CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM, TOGETHER WITH IDENTIFYING AND SUPPORT FOR NUMEROUS SOCIAL SERVICE NEEDS.

AND IT'S A GREAT PROGRAM AND WE'RE EXCITED TO SEE IT GOING FORWARD.

HAVING PLAYED SOME BASEBALL IN HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE, I AM ALWAYS EXCITED BY CFB SUCCESSES ON THE DIAMOND.

AND CONGRATULATIONS TO CREEKVIEW HIGH SCHOOL'S CAMERON LANDBERG ON BEING THE STAR LOCAL MEDIA'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK.

CONGRATULATIONS, CAMERON. LASTLY, I WANT TO SPEAK TO AN INACCURATE RUMOR THAT'S BEEN MAKING ROUNDS ON SOCIAL MEDIA CLAIMING THAT CFB RAISED PROPERTY TAXES IN THE LAST FEW YEARS.

THAT IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE. BETWEEN STATE REQUIRED COMPRESSION AND GOOD FISCAL MANAGEMENT, THE CFB TAX RATE IN THE LAST DECADE HAS GONE FROM $1.38 38 PER HUNDRED IN PROPERTY VALUE TO THIS YEAR'S CURRENT RATE OF $0.98 PER HUNDRED. SO WHILE ASSESSED PROPERTY VALUES HAVE RISEN DUE TO INFLATION, OUR DISTRICT DOES NOT HAVE ANY CONTROL OVER THIS.

WE'RE NOT THE ASSESSMENT AGENCY CFB'S. PART OF OUR COMMUNITY'S PROPERTY TAXES ARE DOWN 28% $0.40 OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS. AND THAT CONCLUDES MY PRESIDENT'S REMARKS FOR TONIGHT.

COMMITTEE UPDATES IS NEXT. BOARD MEMBERS. I KNOW WE HAVE SOME COMMITTEE REPORTS.

MARJORIE, WHICH YOU LOVE TO START. SO ON MARCH 25TH WE HAD A SAFETY AND SECURITY COMMITTEE AND MEETING AND LOTS OF GOOD THINGS HAPPENING THERE.

ONE OF THE THINGS I WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT WAS THE SENTINEL OF SAFETY PROJECT IS GOING TO BE HAPPENING AGAIN THIS YEAR, AND IT IS A LITTLE PROGRAM THAT ALL THE DIFFERENT SCHOOLS WILL DO IN CONJUNCTION WITH THEIR SAFETY AND SECURITY OFFICERS WHERE THEY WILL FIND A PROBLEM, AND THEN THEY IDENTIFY DIFFERENT SOLUTIONS AND THEY COME UP WITH A FUN WAY OF SHOWING THAT. LAST YEAR, ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS WAS AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CAME UP WITH A RAP TO ON A SECURITY ISSUE.

I THINK IT WAS ROSEMEAD. REALLY CUTE. DIFFERENT IDEAS.

AND ALL THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS THIS YEAR WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN IT.

AND THEN THERE'S A LITTLE CONTEST AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR TO DETERMINE EVERYONE'S FAVORITE, I GUESS, OR THE BEST ONES. SO I WAS EXCITED TO HEAR ABOUT THAT.

AND THAT CONCLUDES MY THANK YOU. MISS ROSS.

OH, I HAVE A LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE UPDATE. SO ON TUESDAY, MISS BRADY, MISS BARNES, MISS HATFIELD, DOCTOR ALDRIDGE AND I TOOK A DAY TRIP TO THE TEXAS CAPITOL IN AUSTIN.

THE PURPOSE OF OUR VISIT WAS TO MEET WITH HOUSE REPRESENTATIVES AND SENATORS AND THEIR STAFFERS.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO REPRESENTATIVE VENTURE'S OFFICE FOR COORDINATING OUR SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY.

BECAUSE OF THEIR EFFORTS, WE WERE ABLE TO GET A MEETING WITH FIVE OF SIX OFFICES WHILE WE WERE THERE.

WE ALSO WANT TO THANK RAISE YOUR HAND, TEXAS MATTHEW HALL, FOR ACCOMPANYING US THROUGHOUT THE DAY, ANSWERING OUR QUESTIONS AND GUIDING US THROUGH REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS. CFBISD IS REPRESENTED BY SEVERAL HOUSE REPRESENTATIVES CASSANDRA GARCIA HERNANDEZ, BEN BUMGARNER, MITCH LITTLE, AND RAFAEL ANCHIA, AS WELL AS TWO SENATORS, DAN PARKER AND NATHAN JOHNSON.

THE FOCUS OF OUR TIME WITH EACH OFFICE WAS TO THANK THEM FOR LEGISLATION, LEGISLATION THEY PERSONALLY FILED IN SUPPORT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION AND OUR BOARD LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES. WE ASKED THEM TO CONSIDER COAUTHOR OR SPONSOR BILLS FILED WITH OTHERS THAT RELATE TO OUR BOARD LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES.

ADDITIONALLY, FOR SOME BILLS, WE ADVOCATED FOR AMENDMENTS TO BE FILED TO ENHANCE THE BILL TO FURTHER ALIGN WITH OUR PRIORITIES.

FINALLY, WE PROVIDED EACH ONE WITH A LIST OF UNFUNDED MANDATES AND THE FINANCIAL IMPACT THOSE HAVE ON OUR DISTRICT.

WE RETURNED FROM OUR DAY TRIP WITH A LIST OF FOLLOW UP TASKS, WHICH INCLUDE SENDING THANK YOU AND FOLLOW UP COMMUNICATION TO EACH OFFICE, MONITORING AND ADVOCATING FOR BILLS TO CROSS THE FINISH LINE THIS SESSION, AND PROVIDING SOME ADDITIONAL DATA TO REPRESENTATIVES IN AN EFFORT TO SUPPORT THEM IN ADVOCATING FOR AMENDMENTS. WE ALSO HAVE AN UPDATE ON THE BILL TO SUPPORT TEMPORARY CERTIFICATION FOR OUT OF STATE TEACHERS THAT WE DISCUSSED LAST MONTH.

TWO BILLS WERE ORIGINALLY FILED WITH THE SAME LANGUAGE.

WE HAVE CONFIRMATION THAT THE BILL WILL BE MOVING FORWARD IS HB 1178.

WE TALKED ABOUT DOING, OF COURSE, THE ENROLLMENT PLAN THAT WE WORK WITH STUDENT SERVICES WITH TO INCREASE OUR ENROLLMENT, WHICH IS A NUMBER ONE CHANGING THE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL SCHEDULES BACK TO AN EIGHT PERIOD DAY WHICH ACTUALLY SAVES US QUITE A BIT OF MONEY.

BUT IF THAT WERE TO HAPPEN, IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN UNTIL 2627.

SO HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPALS, DON'T WORRY YET. LOOKING AT OVERTIME HOURS FOR OUR CUSTODIAL AND TRANSPORTATION STAFF.

LOOKING AT LONGER REPLACEMENT SCHEDULE FOR TECHNOLOGY AND ATP.

A FULLY MOVING TO YMCA, AS WE ARE CURRENTLY RUNNING AT A $600,000 LOSS EVERY YEAR.

SO THAT'S THE UPDATE FROM THE BUDGET COMMITTEE.

WE MET ON MARCH 12TH, MARCH 23RD, MARCH 28TH, AGAIN WITH ADMINISTRATION.

AND THIS EVENING, APRIL 3RD BEFORE OUR OUR MEETING.

IN THESE WE'VE COMPLETED THE REVIEW OF THE POLICY UPDATE 124, WHICH IS IN OUR CONSENT AGENDA THIS EVENING.

AND WE CONTINUED WORK ON OUR REVIEW OF CV 2030.

IN OUR STRATEGIC PRIORITIES, WE ARE ALMOST NEARING THE END.

YOU KNOW, OUR OVERALL INTENT. WHEN WE STARTED THIS, WHEN THE BOARD COLLECTIVELY DECIDED THAT WE NEEDED TO REVIEW AND REFRESH.

OUR INTENT WAS THE DICK COMMITTEE MEETING IN APRIL TO GET THAT REVIEWED, AND WE COULD GET IT APPROVED AND THEN FOR THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR.

AND SO WE'RE ON WE ARE ON SCHEDULE. OUR NEXT STEPS IS WE WILL DO A FINAL REVIEW ON OUR WORK STUDY TO ENSURE WE'VE CAPTURED OUR INTENT OF WHAT OUR PRIORITIES ARE GOING TO BE FROM A DIRECTION OF THE DISTRICT.

AND THEN WE WILL SUBMIT TO DEQ AND THE ORIGINAL CV 2030 COMMITTEE FOR REVIEW AND FEEDBACK ON THAT WITH THE INTENTION OF PRESENTING TO THE BOARD THE PRIORITIES, INDICATORS AND MEASURES AT THE MAY 1ST BOARD MEETING AND THEN CONTINUE THE WORK PRIOR TO THE 2526 SCHOOL YEAR FOR BASELINE DATA AND FUTURE YEAR METRICS.

OUR PERRY ROBOTICS MIDDLE SCHOOL, THEY QUALIFIED THEIR ROBOTICS CLUB.

QUALIFIED FOR THE THE 2025 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

I MEAN, THAT IS AMAZING. OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL KIDS ARE SO EXCITED ABOUT COMPETING, AND THEY EARNED THE HIGHEST AWARD FOR DESIGN AT REGIONALS, SO. WOW. JUST POURING INTO OUR KIDS. I HAVE TO BRAG ON OUR STUDENT NUTRITION DEPARTMENT.

THEY ARE DOING TASTE TESTING. SO WE ARE HONORING WHAT OUR STUDENTS WANT.

SO THEY GOT TO TASTE A A TRADITIONAL MEXICAN NOODLE SOUP, AND THEY'RE GATHERING DATA TO SEE IF THAT'S SOMETHING WE WANT TO EXPAND FOR OUR STUDENTS.

AND THEY REALLY ENJOYED, LIKE HAVING THE TASTE TEST AND AND GETTING TO BE A PART OF THAT.

WE HAD A GREAT EVENT AT THE NANCY WATSON CENTER A COUPLE SATURDAYS AGO.

I WANT TO THANK VICTOR JOHNSON, KATRINA AND AMY JOHNSON AND THE KINGS ACCOUNTABILITY GROUP.

WE GAVE OUR STUDENTS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL.

THERE WERE 35 STUDENTS THERE, AND THEY RECEIVED BRAND NEW SUITS.

PETROL STORIES, WHICH TOOK PLACE LAST SATURDAY, COUNCIL PTA GAVE AWAY 131 TICKETS TO DISTRICT STAFF AND PETROL STUDIES STORIES SPONSORED TEN FIRST RESPONDERS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

CARROLLTON FIRE DEPARTMENT BROUGHT ONE OF THEIR NEWEST ENGINES FOR OUR CHILDREN TO SEE.

THE SHOW PROMOTED STUDENT SAFETY BY FOSTERING A POSITIVE COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR FIRST RESPONDERS AS FIRST PLACE FINISHER FOR TICKET SALES. LA VILLITA ELEMENTARY HAS WON THE FREE PATROL STORIES EVENT NEXT YEAR AT THEIR SCHOOL.

IN ADDITION, THEIR LIBRARIAN, MISS DAVIS, PUT TOGETHER A BOOK WALK AS PART OF THE OPEN HOUSE SO STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES COULD INTERACT WITH A STORY TOGETHER AND EXPLORE THE ENTIRE SCHOOL. SO CONGRATULATIONS TO ROSEMEAD ELEMENTARY FOR BEING OUR MARCH CHALLENGE WINNER.

THIS YEAR, THE EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION WILL HOST THE TEACHER OF THE YEAR EVENT WHICH IS SPONSORED BY THE CREDIT UNION OF TEXAS AND EL

ON THE EVENING OF APRIL 17TH, WILL CELEBRATE AND HONOR EACH OF OUR CAMPUS TEACHERS OF THE YEAR.

THE EVENT WILL CONCLUDE WITH THE SURPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE DISTRICT'S ELEMENTARY TEACHER OF THE YEAR AND THE SECONDARY TEACHER OF THE YEAR. THE FINALISTS GO ON TO REPRESENT THE DISTRICT REGIONALLY FOR THE TITLE, FOR THE TEACHER OF THE YEAR TITLE, WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF A STATE TITLE AND MORE THANKS TO OUR SPONSOR SUPPORT.

PROCEEDS FROM THE EVENT WILL GO TOWARD OUR GREAT START CAMPUS GRANTS FOR THE UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR.

AND YOU'LL REMEMBER, LAST YEAR WE PROVIDED EACH ONE OF OUR CAMPUSES AND CENTERS WITH A GRANT THAT THEY COULD USE THAT WAS UNRESTRICTED.

OUR ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP INITIATIVE IS WELL UNDERWAY WITH AN INCREASE IN APPLICANTS FROM YEARS PAST, AND OUR HOPE IS TO EXCEED THE NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS FROM LAST YEAR.

JUST A PIN IN IT. LAST YEAR, MAY 2024, THE FOUNDATION AWARDED $96,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS TO CFB SENIORS AND ONE LUCKY JUNIOR. THE FOUNDATION CONTINUES TO INVEST IN LITERACY INITIATIVES, AND WE ARE SIMPLY DETERMINED TO GET BOOK VENDING MACHINES TO ALL ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMPUSES.

SEVERAL CFB ALUMNI ARE GIVING BACK, AND THEY ARE SURPRISING CAMPUSES WITH MACHINES THAT INCLUDE.

GOOD ELEMENTARY. STARKE. ELEMENTARY. AND JUST LAST WEEK, VIVIAN FIELD MIDDLE SCHOOL.

THE FOUNDATION IS SO EXCITED TO GET MORE MACHINES TO CAMPUSES THAT WE HAVE A NEW GRANT OPPORTUNITY.

WE'RE ANNOUNCING TONIGHT BEGINNING NEXT WEEK.

CAMPUSES CAN APPLY FOR A BOOK VENDING MACHINE GRANT FROM THE ED FOUNDATION.

THE SELECTED RECIPIENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED BEFORE THE END OF SCHOOL.

THE SCHOOL YEAR AND MACHINES WILL BE ON CAMPUSES BY FALL.

WHICH WE ARE REFERRING TO AS THE CFB FUTURE READY SUMMER PROGRAM.

SO WE HAVE QUITE A FEW THINGS TO SHARE WITH YOU THIS AFTERNOON OR THIS EVENING.

SO THE FOCUS OF OUR SUMMER PROGRAMING ARE FOCUSED ON THE AREAS THAT YOU SEE ON THE SCREEN.

WE'RE FOCUSING OBVIOUSLY, ON STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT. OBVIOUSLY WE ARE ALSO WORKING TOWARDS GROWTH MEASURES AND CLOSING INSTRUCTIONAL GAPS.

WE ARE ALSO FOCUSING THIS SUMMER ON ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT THROUGH HANDS ON LEARNING.

AND THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WILL BE NEW FOR CFB THIS SUMMER THAT WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT, INCLUDING EXPLORATION AND CRITICAL THINKING.

TARGETED SUPPORT FOR OUR AT RISK STUDENTS. AND THEN WE ARE ALSO EXCITED TO HAVE SOME INCREASED COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS WITH WHAT WE WERE ABLE TO DO THIS SUMMER.

I WANTED TO START WITH KIND OF WHERE WE HAVE TO BEGIN, WHICH IS WHERE OUR T REQUIREMENTS KIND OF GIVE US THE GUIDELINES FOR SUMMER PROGRAMING AND SOME THINGS THAT WE HAVE TO DO, BUT THEN WE'RE ALSO ABLE TO GO OUTSIDE OF THOSE AREAS FOR ADDITIONAL ENRICHMENT.

SO IN 2021, POST COVID. HOUSE BILL 1416 KIND OF CHANGED HOW SCHOOLS HANDLE SUMMER SCHOOL.

AND WITH THAT PRETTY MUCH THEY MANDATED SUMMER SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS WHO DID NOT MEET GRADE LEVEL EXPECTATIONS IN READING AND MATH, AS WELL AS CONNECTED TO OUR STAR ASSESSMENTS.

SO A FEW AREAS THAT ARE CONNECTED TO THAT HOUSE BILL ARE RELATED TO STAR IN SUMMER SCHOOL.

AND SO IF THEY DON'T PASS THESE SPECIFIC TESTS THAT THEY'VE OUTLINED, WE DO HAVE TO HAVE EITHER SUMMER SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEM OR ALSO OPPORTUNITIES THAT WE DO DURING THE SCHOOL DAY. ALSO, IT PROVIDES FLEXIBILITY FOR DISTRICTS TO BE ABLE TO DETERMINE HOW WE WANT TO PROVIDE THE SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES AND THE INTERVENTIONS THAT ARE NECESSARY FOR OUR STUDENTS. SO WITH HOUSE BILL 1416, THERE WERE SOME CHANGES WHICH WERE ACTUALLY STEMMING FROM HOUSE BILL 4545.

AND THEY CALL THIS ACCELERATED INSTRUCTION. AN ACCELERATED INSTRUCTION IS SOMETHING THAT WE ARE REQUIRED TO DO 15 HOURS TO 30 HOURS, DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF SUBJECT AREAS THAT THEY NEED TO DO REMEDIATION IN, IN RELATION TO READING AND MATH.

SO A COUPLE OF THE AREAS THAT THE STATE QUALIFIED THAT STUDENTS.

THAT WE HAVE TO ADHERE TO IS THAT STUDENTS CAN RECEIVE THE INTERVENTIONS IF THEY ARE ASSIGNED TO A DESIGNATED TEACHER.

THOSE AREAS ARE THEN REMEDIATED, REALLY THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR BY BEING IN A MASTER TEACHERS CLASS.

AND SO ONE OF THE THINGS THAT THE HOUSE BILL DID, WHICH WAS REALLY GREAT, WAS IT PUT A FOCUS ON CORE INSTRUCTION, NOT JUST WHAT WE'RE DOING IN SUMMER SCHOOL, BECAUSE REALLY, WE WANT TO SEE THOSE ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE YEAR, IN ADDITION TO WHAT WE DO FOR EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR.

IN THE SUMMER TIME. SO WITH THAT, WE HAVE, OF COURSE, A LOT OF DESIGNATED TEACHERS.

WE ALSO ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION TO STUDENTS IN THE TARGETED GRADE LEVELS, THIRD THROUGH EIGHTH GRADE AND THEN HIGH SCHOOL EOC.

AND IT'S LIMITED TO JUST THE TWO SUBJECTS A YEAR SO IT DOESN'T EXCEED THE 30 HOURS.

SO SOME AREAS THAT I WANTED TO KIND OF FOCUS ON IN CONNECTION TO THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE DONE AND WHAT YOU HAVE DONE AS A BOARD IN SUPPORTING US WITH OUR WORK AT TIER ONE.

SO SOME THINGS THAT WE DID THAT WERE ACTIONS THAT CONNECT TO WHAT WE'RE DOING FOR ACCELERATED INSTRUCTION FOR THE 2425 SCHOOL YEAR.

OUR ON THE SCREEN HERE. THE FIRST ONE IS THAT WE HAVE INCREASED THE NUMBER OF TIER DESIGNATED TEACHERS TO 312 TEACHERS, AND THAT IS ACROSS ALL OF OUR CAMPUSES. AND SO THAT IS AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR STUDENTS TO BE THEN SCHEDULED INTO MASTER TEACHERS CLASSES.

IN ADDITION, WE HAVE PROTECTED DEVOTED TIME IN THE MASTER SCHEDULE THIS YEAR.

THAT IS FOR THE K THROUGH EIGHTH GRADE. WE WILL CONTINUE THAT THROUGH THE 2526 SCHOOL YEAR.

BUT THAT PROTECTED TIME ON THE MASTER SCHEDULE IS SPECIFIC TO OUR ELEMENTARIES.

AND THEN THROUGH THE THE MIDDLE SCHOOLS AS WELL.

THIS YEAR WE HAD A MINIMUM OF 50 MINUTES AND SOME UP TO 60 MINUTES IN OUR ELEMENTARIES.

AND SO THAT PROVIDED TIME FOR THAT ACCELERATED INSTRUCTION TO HAPPEN THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR.

MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, WE ALSO HAVE PROVIDED HIGH QUALITY RESOURCES AT TIER ONE AS WELL AS THE DATA MONITORING.

SO THAT WAS OF COURSE CONNECTED TO WHAT WE DID WITH OUR NEW ADOPTIONS WITH HMH FOR READING, AS WELL AS FOR SCIENCE. THE NWR MAP PROGRAM AND ALSO PROGRESS LEARNING, WHICH WAS OUR ADAPTIVE CURRICULUM PROGRAMING.

WE HAVE STREAMLINED THE INTERVENTION RESOURCES TO, TO CONNECT TO OUR DISTRICT DIAGNOSTICS.

AND WITH THAT, IT ALIGNS THEN TO THE INTERVENTION AREAS THAT ARE NEEDED FOR OUR STUDENTS.

AND IT KEEPS THEM FROM HAVING TO WORK IN AREAS THAT THEY MAY HAVE ALREADY MASTERED.

AND IT REALLY TARGETS THE AREAS THAT THEY NEED TO ACCELERATE IN.

SO THESE ARE ALL AREAS THAT WE HAVE BEEN WORKING REALLY DILIGENTLY ON WITH STAFF DEVELOPMENT FOR OUR TEACHERS, AS WELL AS MONITORING THE PROGRESS TO SEE HOW THEY'RE DOING THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

WE DEVELOPED A STRATEGIC PLAN THIS YEAR FOR RTI, AND WE ARE KIND OF DOING A RESTART, AND THAT WAS SOMETHING THAT WE STARTED LAST SUMMER.

AND WE'VE DEVOTED SOME RESOURCES, RESOURCES AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO THAT AS WELL.

AND THEN WE HAVE BEEN DOING A LOT OF PROGRESS MONITORING AND DIFFERENTIATED SUPPORT.

THAT HAS BEEN VERY IMPORTANT AS WE ARE WORKING THROUGH OUR LEARNING, ONE OF OUR NEW PROGRAMS.

I DON'T KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER, BUT ABOUT LAST, THIS TIME LAST YEAR, WE ASKED FOR APPROVAL FOR OUR BRANCHING MINDS PROGRAM, AND IT WAS GOING TO BE OUR DATA HUB AND KIND OF OUR CENTRALIZED SOURCE OF ALL OF OUR DATA TO COME INTO ONE AREA FOR US TO IDENTIFY WHERE WE'RE DOING WELL, WHERE WE NEED TO ACCELERATE GROUPING KIDS APPROPRIATELY AND THEN PROGRESS MONITORING OVER TIME.

AND SO WITH THAT, THAT HAS BEEN SOMETHING I'M GOING TO SHOW SOME EVIDENCE OF, BECAUSE IT CONNECTS BACK TO HOW WE ARE CLOSING GAPS FOR STUDENTS IN ADDITION TO OUR RESTRUCTURE WITH OUR RTI TIMELINE. YOU MIGHT REMEMBER WE TALKED ABOUT SOLUTION TREE THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS.

WE PROVIDED SOME TARGETED SUPPORTS FOR CAMPUSES AROUND PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES, WHICH IS SOMETHING WE DO TO ANALYZE DATA AND STUDENT GROWTH AND THEN ALSO ADDITIONAL STAFF DEVELOPMENT WITH DOCTOR ANDREA OGONOWSKI, WHO IS ONE OF THE LEADERS IN THE FIELD AROUND RTI.

SO WITH OUR PROGRESS LEARNING PROGRAM, WE HAD TALKED A LITTLE BIT ABOUT HOW WE'RE USING THAT PROGRAM TO IDENTIFY SKILL GAPS AND THEN ALSO ACCELERATE INSTRUCTION TO CLOSE GAPS. AND SO WE WATCHED THIS ALL YEAR LONG AND WE'VE HAD SOME FUN WITH THIS.

OUR DEPARTMENT HAS TAKEN THIS ON AND DONE A MARCH MADNESS OR A MARCH MADNESS.

AND THEY ARE DOING LEADERBOARDS. AND SO OUR MATH DEPARTMENT, MADISON BOTTOMS, IS OUR COORDINATOR FOR SECONDARY MATH.

AND HE CREATES A DIGITAL PLATFORM AND SHOWS THE LEADERBOARDS.

WE HAVE BRACKETS AND THEY'RE REALLY WORKING TO COMPETE WITH ONE ANOTHER.

I SAY THAT BECAUSE IT MAKES ME REALLY EXCITED, BECAUSE WE'VE BEEN WATCHING THIS EVERY MONTH, AND FOURTH GRADE MATH HAS BEEN LEADING THE DISTRICT THE WHOLE YEAR.

AND SO THEY'VE GOT SOME BRAGGING RIGHTS AROUND THAT.

WELL, THIS PAST MONTH, THIRD GRADE MATH EDGED THEM OUT AND THEY ARE LIKE, OH, WHAT'S HAPPENING? AND SO WITH THAT, I ALWAYS LIKE TO CHECK THE DATA.

LOOK AND SEE IF THAT EVIDENCE OF DATA IS SHOWING.

ARE WE REALLY CLOSING GAPS FOR STUDENTS? IS THAT CONNECTING BACK TO OUR MAP GROWTH DATA AND THE THINGS THAT WE'RE DOING WITH DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENTS.

SO THIS IS A SNAPSHOT OF WHAT YOU'LL SEE FROM OUR BRANCHING MINDS PROGRAM, WHICH IS OUR BRAND NEW DATA PLATFORM THAT IS THE DATA HUB FOR ALL OF OUR DATA.

BUT THEY ALSO WERE OUR LEADER IN OUR USAGE OF THE PROGRAM, AND THEY HAVE GROWN AND INCREASED THEIR GROWTH MEASURES THAT THERE.

IT IS MAY 30TH THROUGH JUNE THE 26TH. WE WILL PROBABLY SERVE SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 6 AND 700 STUDENTS, AND THAT IS ALREADY UP FROM WHAT WE SERVED LAST YEAR.

THE ENROLLMENT RIGHT NOW IS ALMOST 500, AND I BELIEVE WE HAD 550 LAST YEAR.

SO WE'RE ANTICIPATING A LOT MORE THIS YEAR. SO WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT.

IF WE NEED TO GO TO A SECOND SITE, WE ARE GOING TO MOVE THE SECOND SITE TO FARMERS BRANCH.

SO WE HAVE A BACKUP PLAN IF WE NEED TO FOR GROWING THAT PROGRAM.

WE WILL ALSO BE OFFERING THROUGH SPECIAL SERVICES OUR EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR, WHICH IS CALLED ESY.

WE WILL CONTINUE TO OFFER ACCELERATION AT THE AT SMITH HIGH SCHOOL THIS YEAR, AND WE'RE THANKFUL TO DOCTOR JIMENEZ FOR HER WILLINGNESS TO OPEN HER DOORS TO ALL OF US COMING TO HER THIS YEAR. AND SO WE ARE VERY EXCITED.

WE WILL RUN TWO SUMMER SESSIONS. THE FIRST SUMMER SESSION BEGINS JUNE JUNE THE 2ND AND RUNS THROUGH THE 12TH.

AND THE SECOND SESSION WILL BEGIN THE VERY NEXT WEEK ON THE 16TH AND RUN THROUGH THE 26TH.

WE DO HAVE A SCHOOL HOLIDAY ON JUNE 19TH, SO NONE OF OUR CAMPUSES WILL BE OPEN ON THAT DAY.

WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT THE YMCA THAT WILL BE HELD AT RIVER CHASE, AND THE CHILD DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY WILL ALSO BE OPEN, ALTHOUGH THEY WILL BE RELOCATED DUE TO THEIR PROJECTS WITH THEIR HVAC ON THEIR ROOF THIS SUMMER, SO THEY WILL BE HOUSED AT CARROLLTON. SO WE DO BELIEVE THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEACHERS TO BE ABLE TO BRING THEIR STUDENTS TO THE CDA AT CARROLLTON AND ALSO SERVE AT THE LEARNING THE LANGUAGE PROGRAM WILL BE A REALLY GREAT BENEFIT AND VERY CONVENIENT FOR THEM.

IN ADDITION, WE HAVE A NEWCOMER SUMMER PROGRAM, ELEMENTARY FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS.

THIS IS STRICTLY FOCUSED ON LANGUAGE ACQUISITION AS WELL AS STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT THAT IS ALSO HELD AT CARROLLTON.

AND IT'S ALIGNED TO OUR TEXAS ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS.

SO THE FIRST CAMP THAT WE WILL BE PROMOTING, AND I'M WORKING WITH THE JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT GROUP WITH MISS KATRINA SPOTTSVILLE.

SHE'S BEEN AMAZING IN HELPING WITH THIS PARTNERSHIP.

IT WILL BE A MATH ENTREPRENEUR CAMP. SO THIS IS GOING TO BE FOCUSED KIND OF LIKE A SHARK TANK.

THEY WILL BE DOING A SALES PITCH. THEY WILL BE DESIGNING WHAT THEY'RE GOING TO DO FOR THEIR BUSINESS, AND THEY WILL BE WORKING ON THAT THROUGHOUT THE WEEK.

AND IT'LL BE FOCUSED ON THIRD THROUGH FIFTH GRADE.

WE ARE WORKING ON LOCATING THE BEST SITE FOR THIS, AND I'M WORKING WITH CHRIS AND BOBBY ON THE BEST LOCATIONS WITH OUR BOND PROJECTS THAT ARE HAPPENING OVER THE SUMMER. WE HAVE SOME LIMITATIONS, BUT WE DO HAVE OTHER PLACES THAT WE CAN HOST THE CAMPS.

AND SO WE ARE TRYING TO LOCATE THAT. SO WE SHOULD HAVE THAT FINALIZED BY THE END OF THE WEEK.

AND THEN WE WILL BE PUTTING OUT MARKETING FOR THE COMMUNITY ON EXACTLY WHERE THE CAMP WILL BE HOUSED.

THE OTHER CAMP THAT WE ARE GOING TO BE WORKING WITH OUT IN THAT CAMP IS FREE TO OUR STUDENTS, IT IS FREE TO OUR FAMILIES, AND THERE'S NO COST TO THE DISTRICT.

THE BUSINESSES ALSO COME INTO THE CAMPS AND THEY DO SOME THINGS WITH THE STUDENTS AND THEY WILL HAVE A BIG SHOWCASE ON THE LAST DAY OF THE CAMP, AND THE PARENTS GET TO COME UP AND SEE THE SHOWCASE OF THEIR, OF THEIR BUSINESS PRODUCTS. SO WE ARE SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THAT BECAUSE THAT'S A GREAT PARTNERSHIP. IN ADDITION TO THAT WE WILL BE DOING A HANDS ON STEM SUMMER CAMP, AND THIS IS DONE WITH THE NATIONAL INVENTORS HALL OF FAME.

THIS AGAIN, WE'RE DETERMINING LOCATION OF THIS CAMP.

KINDERGARTEN THROUGH SIXTH GRADE WILL BE ABLE TO REGISTER FOR THIS CAMP AND THEN SEVENTH THROUGH 12TH GRADERS HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE AT THE CAMP AS CAMP LEADERS, AND THEY ALSO GET LIKE 40 VOLUNTEER HOURS TO PUT ON THEIR RESUMES FOR COLLEGE.

AND THEY ALSO GET SOME OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCHOLARSHIPS.

AND SO THAT'S AN OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR SEVENTH THROUGH 12TH GRADE STUDENTS TO ASSIST WITH THE CAMP.

THE K THROUGH SIX STUDENTS WILL BE GOING THROUGH THE CURRICULUM AND THE MODULES. AND SO WHAT THIS IS FOCUSED ON IS PRETTY MUCH INVENTORS.

AND SO THIS WORKSHOP IS FOCUSING ON NEUROSCIENCE BIOPSYCHOLOGY ELECTRONICS, ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, OPTICS AND PHYSICS. AND IT'S CONNECTED TO THE HALL OF FAMER INVENTOR MR. LANNY SMOOT. AND LANNY SMOOT WAS THIS WAS ALL INSPIRED BECAUSE HE WAS WALT DISNEY'S IMAGINEER WHO INVENTED THE THEATRICAL TECHNOLOGIES AND ALL THE SPECIAL EFFECTS. SO SOME OF THE RIDES AT DISNEY WERE ALL CREATED AND INVENTED BY HIM.

AND SO WITH THAT, THEY HAVE CREATED THIS ILLUSION WORKSHOP.

AND THE STUDENTS WILL BE GOING THROUGH AND LEARNING ABOUT THE MECHANICS.

THEY WILL BE BLENDING SCIENCE AS WELL AS THE SPINNING ANIMATION.

AND THEY WILL BE MAKING A DEVICE AND DOING MOVING PROPS AND ALL KINDS OF ENTERTAINMENT CONNECTIONS WITH THE WITH THEATER.

SO IT'S A REALLY FUN KIND OF CROSS-CURRICULAR MODULES THAT THEY'LL BE GOING THROUGH.

AND AT THE END OF THE CAMP, THEY WILL HAVE A PRODUCT FROM EACH ONE OF THE MODULES.

SOME OF THEM HAVE MORE THAN ONE, AND THEY GET TO TAKE ALL OF THEM HOME.

SO EACH ONE OF THE STUDENTS GETS TO GO HOME WITH LIKE 5 TO 6 DIFFERENT CREATIONS THAT THEY INVENTED.

WE CAN LOOK AT ALL KINDS OF DIFFERENT THINGS, FROM DEMOGRAPHIC BREAKDOWNS TO STUDENTS TO TEACHERS TO PROGRAMS. IN FACT, MISS ROWLAND AND I WERE KIND OF NERDING OUT ON THAT EARLIER TODAY LOOKING AT OUR SPECIAL ED STUDENTS, AND GOT VERY EXCITED BECAUSE WE TRACKED SOME OF OUR STUDENTS WHO WERE IN OUR SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM WHO WERE AT ABOVE A YEAR'S WORTH OF GROWTH.

IT GIVES ME CHILLS TO THINK ABOUT, SO IT'S FUN TO SEE.

I BELIEVE NOW WITH OUR CAPABILITIES OF OUR PROGRAMING, WE CAN TRACK IT BETTER THAN WE WE DID BEFORE.

SO THAT IS INCREDIBLE. WITH THE STEM PROGRAMING THAT'S DONE WITH OUR TEACHERS, THEY DON'T NECESSARILY PROVIDE THE TEACHERS, BUT WE DO THAT WITH IN-HOUSE. THEY ARE PAID THEY ALSO GET A SCHOLARSHIP FOR A STUDENT TO ATTEND THE CAMP FOR FREE, SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR OWN STUDENT TO COME.

WE HAVE ONE PERSON THAT WILL OVERSEE IS CALLED THE CAMP DIRECTOR, AND THEY GET A STIPEND.

AND THE MORE STUDENTS THAT COME, THE HIGHER THE STIPEND ACTUALLY IS.

AND SO THAT'S ALSO EXCITING. SO WE CAN CONTINUE TO OFFER MORE SPACES.

THERE ARE MANY DISTRICTS AROUND US THAT ARE DOING THIS NATIONAL INVENTOR CAMP.
