IT'S OFTEN REFERRED TO AS EMRA, ONE OF OUR ACRONYMS. AND SO FOR THE CYCLE OF 2026 THEY REVIEWED K THROUGH 12 MATH MATERIALS. SO WE ARE ABLE TO SELECT FROM THAT LIST OF MATERIALS THAT ARE 100% ALIGNED TO THE STANDARDS THAT THE TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY PUTS OUT. AND SO THIS YEAR, WE ARE GOING TO BE REVIEWING MATERIALS FROM THE EMRA 26 CYCLE FOR IMPLEMENTATION FOR THE 2627 SCHOOL YEAR. SO WE'LL BE LOOKING AT ALL MATERIALS FOR MATHEMATICS FOR K THROUGH 12. SO IT WILL BE FOR ALL GRADE LEVELS. THE PROCESS WILL BEGIN WITH PROPOSING, FIRST OF ALL TONIGHT OUR DISTRICT'S TEXTBOOK COMMITTEE. AND THEN OF COURSE DEVELOPING A SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR US TO FOLLOW THROUGH THE ADOPTION PROCESS THIS YEAR. SO THE COMMITTEE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CONDUCTING A COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION. THEY WILL REVIEW ALL AVAILABLE MATERIALS THAT ARE ALIGNED 100% TO THE STATE STANDARDS. THEY WILL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR RECOMMENDING THE MOST EFFECTIVE RESOURCES THAT WILL NOT ONLY SUPPORT HIGH QUALITY CURRICULUM INSTRUCTION IN THE CLASSROOM, BUT ALSO DIFFERENTIATION FOR OUR STUDENTS, AND ALSO JUST ENSURE THAT WE HAVE THAT ALIGNMENT TO THE STATE STANDARDS, AND IT WILL MEET THE NEEDS OF THE STUDENTS IN CFB. SO THE TEXTBOOK COMMITTEE SELECTION PROCESS, THERE'S BEEN A LOT OF HARD WORK THAT'S BEEN GOING INTO THIS OVER THE LAST YEAR. MISS CAMPBELL AND I HAVE MET ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, AS WELL AS WITH DOCTOR HOON, TO BE ABLE TO REVIEW OUR STEPS ALONG THE WAY FOR THIS YEAR. THE GOAL IS FOR US TO HAVE A WELL-ROUNDED COMMITTEE THAT IS CAPABLE OF SELECTING MATERIALS THAT WILL SUPPORT ALL OF OUR TEACHERS, AS WELL AS ALL AS WELL AS ALL OF OUR STUDENTS, AND ALSO WILL BE COMPATIBLE WITH OUR TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES AND WILL WORK SEAMLESSLY WITHIN OUR NETWORKING SYSTEM. SO IT BEGAN WITH A STAKEHOLDER INTEREST SURVEY. THAT WAS A GOOGLE FORM THAT WAS SENT OUT TO ALL CAMPUSES. IT IS A VOLUNTARY REQUEST FOR THE FOR THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS TO AGREE TO SIGN ON TO BE A PART OF THIS COMMITTEE. THE STAKEHOLDERS COMPLETE THAT FORM IN OCTOBER. IT WAS THEN REVIEWED FOR BALANCED REPRESENTATION. WE WANTED TO HAVE ALL GRADE LEVELS REPRESENTED AS WELL AS THERE'S A VARIETY OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE ON THIS RECOMMENDED COMMITTEE. THERE IS CAMPUS DIVERSITY. WE HAVE DUAL LANGUAGE REPRESENTATION AS WELL AS BILINGUAL. OUR ADVANCED ACADEMICS WITH OUR LEAP AND OUR GT PROGRAMING. AND THEN WE ALSO HAVE CROSS-DEPARTMENTAL REPRESENTATION IN ALL OF OUR DEPARTMENT AREAS. SO THAT'S FROM OUR MULTILINGUAL DEPARTMENT TO ADVANCED ACADEMICS, SPECIAL SERVICES, OUR DATA AND TECHNOLOGY TEAM, ASSESSMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY, AND THEN ALSO CAMPUS ADMINISTRATION. SO WE HAVE CAMPUS DISTRICT AS WELL AS THEN A COMPREHENSIVE, ROBUST GROUP OF TEACHERS. IN YOUR BOARD BOOK YOU'RE PROVIDED A CHART. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY VERY TINY. THEY'LL BE REVIEWING IT IN ALIGNMENT WITH THE RUBRIC AND LOOKING FOR ALL OF THE THINGS THAT WE NEED, NOT ONLY INTERNALLY FOR OUR DISTRICT, BUT THEN ALSO THE THINGS THAT WILL BE NECESSARY FOR TEACHING ALL OF THE GRADE LEVEL STANDARDS. THEN IN JANUARY, WE WILL HAVE A VENDOR SAMPLE WHERE THEY WILL COME TO US, AND THEY WILL DO A LITTLE PRESENTATION SO THAT OUR TEXTBOOK COMMITTEE CAN THEN ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT SOME OF THE VENDORS THAT THEY'VE BEEN ABLE TO PREVIEW AND REVIEW FOR HIGH QUALITY CURRICULUM MATERIALS IN JANUARY. ALSO, WE WILL HAVE A PUBLIC VIEWING, AND THAT IS AT THE SDC. WE HAVE ALL OF THE MATERIALS ON SITE FOR ANYONE TO COME AND VIEW. AND SO THAT WOULD BE ANY OF OUR PARENTS, STUDENTS, TEACHERS, ANYONE CAN COME AND REVIEW THOSE MATERIALS. AND THEN IN FEBRUARY WE WILL CAST FINAL CHOICES FOR THE TOP TWO AT THAT TIME. SO WE'LL NARROW FROM THE LARGE GROUP OF MATERIALS DOWN TO WHAT WE FEEL LIKE ARE THE TOP TWO THAT ARE THE MOST SUITABLE FOR THE STAFF AND STUDENTS IN THE DISTRICT FROM THE FINAL TWO CHOICES. ALSO IN FEBRUARY, WE WILL ALSO HAVE ANOTHER PUBLIC VIEWING OF JUST THOSE FINAL TWO. SO IF ANYONE WANTS TO COME BACK AND LOOK AND DIVE DEEPER INTO THOSE MATERIALS, THEY CAN. AND THIS YEAR WE ARE TAKING EXTRA PRECAUTIONS FOR BUDGETARY CONSIDERATIONS, AND WE ARE UTILIZING ADDITIONAL FUNDS THAT THE STATE PROVIDES US. IF WE GO FROM THE CYCLE OF MATERIALS, BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN REALLY VETTED AND APPROVED AT THE STATE LEVEL BY THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION.
