SUPERINTENDENT ELDRIDGE, TONIGHT WE ARE HERE TO SHARE A BRIEF REVIEW OF THE TARGETED IMPROVEMENT PLAN FOR SHEFFIELD ELEMENTARY AND POLK MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR THE 2526 SCHOOL YEAR. AS YOU RECALL FROM MARCH'S PRESENTATION IN TEXAS, WE HAVE TWO SEPARATE MEASURES FOR ACCOUNTABILITY ONE AT THE STATE LEVEL AND ONE AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL. BOTH SYSTEMS HAVE THREE LEVELS OF SUPPORT AND ASSOCIATED ACTIONS AT A BASE, MODERATE AND INTENSIVE ACTION. THE STATE'S A THROUGH F SYSTEM CONSISTS OF THREE PERFORMANCE STANDARDS ACCEPTABLE NEEDS, IMPROVEMENT AND UNACCEPTABLE.
AND OUR FEDERAL ACCOUNTABILITY ALSO HAS THREE LEVELS, INCLUDING TARGETED SUPPORTS, ADDITIONAL TARGETED SUPPORTS, AND COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORTS. BOTH THE FEDERAL AND THE STATE.
ACCOUNTABILITY MEASURES HAVE ASSOCIATED ACTIONS WITHIN THE MIDDLE, WITH THE MIDDLE ACTION BEING A TARGETED IMPROVEMENT PLAN. SO YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING, WHY DOES SHEFFIELD AND POLK, WHOSE LETTER GRADE FOR 2425, DID NOT REQUIRE A TARGETED IMPROVEMENT PLAN, HAVE TO SUBMIT ONE THIS YEAR? ONE OF THE STIPULATIONS OF CHOOSING TO UTILIZE LASSO FUNDS IS THAT ALL CAMPUSES WHO PARTICIPATE MUST COMPLETE A TARGETED IMPROVEMENT PLAN, WHICH MUST BE APPROVED BY THE BOARD. A TARGETED IMPROVEMENT PLAN FOR GRANT PURPOSES INVOLVES CONDUCTING A NEEDS ASSESSMENT, WHICH WAS COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED. THE NEXT REQUIREMENT IS STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT, WHICH EACH CAMPUS HAS ALREADY COMPLETED ABOVE AND BEYOND THE REQUIRED ELEMENTS. A PUBLIC HEARING IS NOT A REQUIRED ELEMENT FOR A GRANT CAMPUS. HOWEVER, THE TIP MUST BE APPROVED BY THE BOARD. A TARGETED IMPROVEMENT PLAN IS A STRATEGIC SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT BLUEPRINT MANDATED BY T POLK AND SHEFFIELD. SIMILARLY, POLK'S TARGETED IMPROVEMENT PLAN IS IDENTICAL IN ALMOST ALL AREAS, EXCEPT FOR A FEW KEY AREAS WHERE MIDDLE SCHOOL DIFFERS FROM ELEMENTARY. ON THIS SLIDE, I WILL SHARE AREAS THAT ARE SIMILAR ACROSS ALL THREE TIPS. AND ON THE NEXT SLIDE, I WILL HIGHLIGHT AREAS WHERE THEY DIFFER ALIKE OR VERY SIMILAR ARE OUR STUDENT OUTCOME GOALS IN EACH TARGETED IMPROVEMENT PLAN. WITH THE ADDITION OF MAGMA MATH AT MIDDLE SCHOOL, ALL THREE CAMPUSES CREATE COLLECTIVE ACCOUNTABILITY BY PARTICIPATING IN A CONSISTENT SCHEDULE OF TRACKING KEY MILESTONES, INCLUDING A REVIEW OF WEEKLY OBSERVATION AND FEEDBACK TRACKERS, QUARTERLY DATA CHECK INS, AND CONDUCTING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AIMED AT IMPROVING OUTCOMES. AND IF THE TEACHER WAS SEEN DOING THAT PARTICULAR BEHAVIOR, ENGAGING WITH STUDENTS, YOU LIKE SIGN THEIR BINGO BOARD.
AND IF THEY GET, I THINK, YOU KNOW, A BINGO IN ANY WAY, THEY GET A PRIZE. AND I THINK IT'S LIKE STARBUCKS GIFT CARD OR SOMETHING. SO WHO KNOWS? THEY GET SOMETHING.
